There are 2 telcos. These are Dialog Axiata and Sri Lanka Telecom. There are smaller telcos operating locally.
There are a number of banks. The biggest banks are government banks Bank of Ceylon and then People's Bank.
There is Keells Super by John Keells Holdings and Cargills Food City by Cargills. Arpico is also available. As of June 2021, there are 407 Cargills Food City outlets, 97 Keells outlets and 25 Arpico Super Centre outlets.
There are a few private hospitals. This includes Asiri, Durdens and Nawaloka. The public health service is available for free.
Sri Lanka gets energy from hydro (water), thermal (oil), thermal (coal) and renewable sources (solar). Approximately, 45% is from hydro, 15% from oil, 25% from coal and 5% from solar.
